Located in southern Sheffield, St James Retail Park is a new commercial development situated on the old Norton College site. Acting at the principal contractor, GMI construction took on the £35m scheme, consisting of 13 retail units, offering 90,000 sq ft at ground floor level, with a further 40,000 sq ft on the first floor. The larger units are complemented by four retail pods, all of which are arranged around the 420-space car park.
Following on from some minor works on several projects, GMI Construction invited us to tender for the hard landscaping package for the development.
Having been successful in our tender, or scope of works on the project involved:
- Installation of 2,300m2 replica granite paving
- Installation of 30m2 blister tactile paving
- Installation of 5m2 corduroy tactile paving
- Resetting of 50 manhole lids
- Formation of 8 granite planting beds
Our works were completed in April 2018, with GMI Construction handing the site over to their client in early May. The 13 units were let prior to completion, with occupiers including Next, TK Maxx, Costa, Superdrug and Shoezone.
