Knowles Wood Primary School is a state funded school situated in Bradford. With the exterior of the school becoming tired and unsafe in some areas, it was proposed that the existing playground be relayed and a paved entrance to the school be installed. In addition, there was a requirement for a new car park to assist with the growing intake a pupils and associated staff increases.
YPP Groundworks was invited by R.H. Fullwood & Co. Ltd. to tender for the work. We were successful in our tender and work commenced in July 2013.
The scope of our works consisted of:
- Full construction of 1,200m2 tarmacadam car park
- Associated car park drainage
- One way carp park entrance system, incorporating small roundabout
- New paved entranceway to school
- Resurfacing of existing playground
YPP Groundworks completed our work in August 2013 as scheduled. The new playground surface has provided the pupils with a safer environment, with the paved entranceway adding to the aesthetics of the school’s exterior. The new car park allows for an additional 74 vehicles to park, which has served to improve safety of pupils, with the one-way entrance system and small roundabout helping to reduce the likelihood of accidents.
