The £400m project at Kirkstall Forge will see a 23-hectare area of brownfield situated in a woodland glen on the River Aire, 3 miles Northwest of Leeds City Centre, redeveloped for mixed-use. Once complete, in addition to the already operational new railway station, the site will boast, 1,000 new homes, hotels and 300,000sqft of commercial space, including restaurants, shops and a gym.
I & H Brown secured the contract to undertake the first phase of the works at Kirkstall Forge, including infrastructure for the new railway station, access roads and service site.
Having been successful with our tender, we commenced our works in October 2015. The bulk of our package consisted of:
- 2,800m of service ducting
- 2,500m of kerbs, including specialist granite kerbing
- 1,050m2 of paving works
- 1,300m of deep drainage, including construction of 26 manholes to a depth of 3m
- Culvert diversion works
